The project
BOBST, the Swiss group and one of the world's leading suppliers of printing and converting equipment for the packaging industry, hired me directly to produce a customer testimonial at one of its customers: THIMM, a German corrugated packaging group with more than 75 years of history, employing around 300 people at its Sibiu plant.
The goal was to let the customer explain why they chose BOBST and what changed on the factory floor after installing the MASTERCUTLINE and the SPEEDPACK automatic packer. Not an ad, but a true story with hard numbers, told by the people who run the machines every day.
The main voice is Mihai Radu, Plant Manager at THIMM Sibiu, who saw the plant grow over fifteen years from about 0.4% to around 10% of the Romanian corrugated board market.
The production: 3 days in Sibiu
A shooting plan built around the structure of the story: context first, then people, then the machines.
Day 01
The plant and the drone footage
The first day was dedicated to THIMM itself: drone footage and every production area of the plant. These are the shots that set the context in the video: scale, order, production capacity.
Day 02
The interview and the BOBST machines
The interview with Mihai Radu, the plant's Plant Manager, followed by b-roll of every BOBST machine in the factory: details, operators at work, interfaces and machine movements.
Day 03
MASTERCUTLINE and SPEEDPACK
A full day on the key line of the video: the MASTERCUTLINE, from loader to palletizer, and the SPEEDPACK automatic packer. Technical framing, top-down shots and camera moves that make a complex process easy to read.
The customer's voice
In the interview, Mihai Radu talks about quality, productivity and reliability. A few highlights:

I wanted a video that never feels long: six minutes where pacing, cinematography and color grading support the story without overpowering it.
